  1. Hello and welcome to my actual website!  I do hope the shopping function works; please email me using jed2f4@yahoo.co.uk if there’s any doubt, and I’ll make to order, we can design together etc.  but first, news!  In 2025 the only outing for me and my horses, dragons, trees etc will hopefully be the Nature In Art Gallery October Craft Fair, 25th and 26th October.
  2. That’s at Twigworth, Gloucestershire, GL2 9PA.  My home studio can still be visited at SY7 0LH too, please be in touch to arrange a visit.Very simple tree, to hang in a window maybe.
  3. I must apologise that this website was made for nice big 1990s computers, and therefore looks a bit rubbish just on your phone, but if you’ve the will to, you’ll get the idea.  And I do believe the shopping function works 🙂  I am also dabbling in facebook and might have stock on ‘Etsy’ too – https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WheatstoneWirework.

This copper lotus in a brass hand is the work of my esteemed partner Mr Indra Shann, who doesn’t have his own website yet, but has been a proper sculpture in clay-to-brass, since the 1980s.  I add it here, as it might join any sales opportunities I take up.  It’s £2000, not my wirework standard of £5-50, but that’s appropriate!

Right, disclaimer and business-rush over…
  • Hello!  My name is Jed Picksley and I can make trees, dragons, horses, birds or pretty much anything out of wire. The things I make are appealing enough that people I am not related to have been buying them from me since 1998.

Here be Dragons!

Originally from Scotland and often in Wales, I currently live in highly-organised clutter in a gallery/workshop/studio/ in Leintwardine (between Knighton and Ludlow, on the Herefordshire/Shropshire/Powys border – SY7 0LH).  Excellent dragon country, with wyverns and unicorns also available.

Prices range from £5-£150.

If you just want to get shopping now though, browse right here, or e-mail or phone to come and visit  Wheatstone House, Leintwardine (SY7 0LH).  01547 540 461.

I am interested in stocking galleries around Hereford/Ludlow/Knighton.  If you have such a thing, do get in touch – jed2f4@yahoo.co.uk

Also my good friend Becka Gauld, Becka’s Insects on Etsy and Facebook takes this art/craft/business lark more seriously than me, and has some items of mine on her Etsy page, please search her out – Becka’s Insects.

But now you’re here in my online shop, please browse the gallery and read the history

All the wire I use is recycled.  Mostly pure copper from house-rewiring, some varnished copper from washing machines, TVs, hair driers etc, and some silvery  “BTC” that’s “bare tinned copper”, from before 1914!

I don’t believe any of my “silvery wire” is actually silver – the finer stuff is reclaimed from the armouring on “armoured cable” and “armoured pipes” used in plumbing and electrics.  Some mysterious tough alloy.  If you work in the industries that I recycle, please tell me more – e-mail jed2f4@yahoo.co.uk  If you just want to give me money, my paypal address is sales at wheatstone wirework.co.uk

10mph! 064 (1024x768)Along with some other unicorns and centaurs, this unicorn has now sold on Etsy.  I could make a similar one again though, if you like.

Just get in touch
